Official opening of the new Library
Yesterday the library was officially opened by Mr Tony Nelson, school governor. We were all very excited to watch Mr Nelson cut the ribbon and unveil a special plaque. Mrs Charles described Mr Nelson as our Knight in Shining Armour and talked about how he had faced our dragons to fight for money to rebuild our school.
Before cutting the ribbon, Mr Nelson shared with us his thoughts, “It did take a long time to build the school library, pupils have patiently put up with a building site but it was worth the wait! The whole school now get fun and pleasure out of the new building and that makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
We would also like to say a huge thank you to the PTFA whose fund raising had enabled us to install the computer programme ‘Junior Librarian’ allowing books to be booked in and out electronically - like a proper library.
The library has been very busy this week and it has been fantastic to see children borrowing books and sharing their books with friends and family.
We would to remind you that the library is open after school on Mondays between 3.15pm and 3.45pm and on Thursdays between 3.25pm and 4pm. The after school sessions are for children to come to the library with parents, grandparents, childminders, carers or the after school club staff.
The children also have an allocated lunchtime slot to return and exchange books.
We look forward to see you in the library after the holiday.
Book Donations –If you have any good quality fiction or non-fiction books you would like to donate to our library, we would be very pleased to receive them. Many thanks.
