We are aware of the effect of low attendance on children. It affects their learning, confidence and social interaction. We want the best for your children and would like to work with you to help your child to feel happy and be successful. Your child deserves a good education and all the opportunities that education can give to them in life.
We are regularly visited by our Educational Welfare Officer who monitors attendance. Obviously we want to help you to improve your child's attendance before needing assistance from the Educational Welfare Service. In line with our Attendance Policy, if your child's attendance starts to fall we will notify you to ensure that you realise this and may ask for evidence to be provided when your child is absent from school (such as a doctor's note from your visit to the dr, pharmacy label of medicine). If you feel there is anything we can do to help please let us know. We are always keen to offer support.
Persistent unauthorised absence could result in the issue of a penalty notice against parents/carers.
If you have any concerns then please make an appointment to see the Headteacher and we will help in whatever way we can.
