Reception 2026 - I have NOT been offered a place... what next?
You will be asked by your LA School Admissions if you wish to accept your offer of school or not, if you have not been offered St Bonaventures you have the option of accepting the offer you have or putting your child on our waiting list. This is managed by the LA until September, if you have not been offered St Bons by September you can then contact our admissions and apply for in-year admissions.
If your child was not offered a place, you have the right to appeal to an independent panel against the decision. We recommend that you look at Bristol City Council's appeal pages to help you consider if this is the right course of action for you and your family.
Appeals for the academic year 2026/27 must be made by 5th June 2026.
Appeals are heard from the end of June.
Details of how to appeal for the academic year 2026/27 will be published on Bristol City Council's website after school allocations are completed on 17th April 2026.
In September, once the new academic year has started, the School Admissions team will hand over admissions to the school. We will then contact you to see if you still wish to be on our waiting list.
If you do wish to remain on the list, you will be asked to complete a mid year application form you will then be placed on our mid year waiting list. Should a place become available our board of Governors review the waiting lsit and offer the place to the child who places highest in our over subscription policy, if two or more children are in the same Catholic category a place will be chosen by a draw.
